It is Affini's policy to respect your privacy. This Privacy Statement describes the means by which Affini obtains information about its members and visitors to the Affini web site, and how that information is used and protected. Your use of Affini's web site and email service signifies your acceptance of this Privacy Statement. If you do not agree or are not comfortable with any policy described in this Privacy Statement, your remedy is to discontinue your use of this web site and email service.

INFORMATION COLLECTION

Affini collects personal information when you register with Affini, when you configure your account and when you declare your personal profile and interests and sign up for the Affini Incentives program. When you register and configure your Affini account, we ask for information such as name, email address and the names and email addresses of your friends and contacts. If you participate in the Affini Incentives program, we may also ask for other information including your occupation, family and marital status.

Affini does not register members younger than thirteen years of age, nor do we knowingly collect personally identifiable information about children under age thirteen.

Affini collects information about your transactions with us and with some of our business and advertising partners.

Affini automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, Affini cookie information, and the page you request.

Affini processes your email in order to provide the email service, but has no intention at this time to analyze the content, other than the header, of your personal email for ad targetting purposes.

INFORMATION DISCLOSURE

Affini uses the information we collect for the following general purposes:

  • To provide and improve our services, and to contact you for administrative purposes.
  • To customize the advertising and content you see.
  • To conduct research.
  • To provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.

Affini does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except with your permission or under the following circumstances:

  • We will disclose your information if we have a good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process, to protect and defend the rights or property of Affini, to enforce the Terms of Service, to act to protect the interest of our members or others, or to maintain and improve our service. Under some circumstances, Affini may be prohibited by law, court order or other legal process from providing notice of the disclosure, and Affini reserves the right not to provide such notice in its sole discretion.
  • We will provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with Affini under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help Affini communicate with you about offers from Affini and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
  • As its business evolves, Affini may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including personally identifiable information, in connection with a merger, reorganization or sale of assets, or in the event of bankruptcy. In such an event, personal and anonymous information may be one of the assets transferred. In this event, Affini will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

AFFINITY-BASED OPT-IN DIRECT MARKETING

Affini enables advertisers to send you targeted advertisements based on information that you provide when you sign up for the Affini Incentives program. Advertisers (including ad serving companies) may assume that people who interact with, view, or click on targeted ads meet the targeting criteria - for example, golf enthusiasts who live in a particular geographic area.

  • Affini does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted ad. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.
  • Affini advertisers include financial service providers (such as banks, insurance agents, stock brokers and mortgage lenders) and non-financial companies (such as stores, airlines, and software companies).

EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS

We may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features or solicit your feedback. Affini also allows visitors to our web site to contact us by email with questions, comments or requests. The information collected from these emails is used to reply to such questions, comments or requests. Sometimes we file visitor's comments so that we can improve our web site in the future. A small sample of visitors to our web site who contact us may be invited to participate in usability studies.

USE OF COOKIES

Affini may use cookies as a part of its login process. Cookies do NOT hold any personal information other than your username and time of login. By registering as an Affini member, you give Affini permission to set and access Affini cookies on your computer. Advertisers participating in the Affini Incentives program may and access their cookies on your computer. Other companies' use of their cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. Advertisers or other companies do not have access to Affini's cookies.

This web site may contain links to other sites. Affini is not responsible for the privacy practices of any sites other than its own. This Privacy Statement applies only to information collected by Affini on its web site.

EDITING AND DELETING YOUR MEMBER INFORMATION

You can edit your Affini Member Information, including your Affini Incentives preferences, at any time.

  • New Preference Categories may be added to the Affini Incentives page from time to time. Users who visit this page can opt out of receiving future marketing communications from these new categories or they can unsubscribe by following instructions contained in the messages they receive.
  • We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the Affini service, such as service announcements and administrative messages without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.
  • You can cancel your Affini membership by visiting our Account Deletion page. We will delete your personal information other than transactional information.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

  • We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.
